1898-12-12: Op 12 december 1898 als ‘CLARENCE’ te water gelaten voor rekening van de African S.O. Co. Ltd. (Elder, Dempster & Co. Ltd., MGRS.), LONDON (U.K.)); tijdens afbouw overgedragen aan de Cie. Belge Maritime Du Congo en verdoopt.

1915-03-30: Op reis met stukgoed van Liverpool naar West-Afrika is de Dakar op 30 maart 1915 te Fordados (Nigeria) uitgebrand (de brand was in de bunkers uitgebroken). Zij moest Total Loss worden verklaard. Het wrak werd in juli 1917 van Forcados naar Lagos gesleept, voor het Gouvernement van Nigeria hersteld en in augustus 1918 weer in de vaart gebracht.

1942-04-00: Final Fate: De ‘HONG PENG’ werd in april 1942 door de Britse Admiraliteit gevorderd en als opslaghulk voor minutie opgelegd te Trincomalee (Ceylon); in juli 1946 teruggegeven doch in 1947 voor sloop verkocht aan slopers te (…).
