Ship Events Data

2003-00-00: 2003 Class: Russian Maritime Register of Shipping(nr: 846571) KM* A1

2013-10-28: Kiel Canal was completly closed after collision of freighter 'SIDERFLY' with gas tanker 'CORAL IVORY' south of Kudensee in the early morning at abt. 3 am (Oct. 28) in the south part of the canal. Both lock pairs in Kiel and Brunsbüttel are closed. Tugs Wolf, Luchs and Parat are assisting 'Siderfly'. Siderfly has a water ingress, according to NDR radio she is probably sinking. The less damaged tanker was moored at Brunsbüttel bunkering station.

2013-11-06: On Nov 6 at 4.30 p.m. the "SIDERFLY" was taken in tow by the tugs "Hans" and "Parat". The port side list had been reduced to 6° degrees before, and a part of the leaks emerged above the water so the water ingress during the transit was less. Four pumps were working throughout the time. The largest leak measured less than expected, it was 2 x 7 meters. The salvors found another breach in the cargo hold of some centimeters width. The convoy reached the South Quay in Brunsbüttel at 5.30 p.m.

2014-02-05: Final Fate: In the morning of Feb 5 the "SIDERFLY" left the inner port of Brunsbüttel to its last voyage towards Fornaes breakers. The Danish tug "Westsund" and the German tug "Parat" started to pull the vessel towards the Baltic Sea at 7.30 a.m. The convoy was expected to reach the Holtenau locks of the Kiel Canal in the afternoon before continuing to Grenaa.
