Ship Events Data

2013-05-16: ARKLOW RALLY damaged when Thetis D passed too fast. Four severed stanchions aboard the "ARKLOW RALLY", two broken lines and damage to a loading arm and gangway at the quay of the Holcim company were the consequences of excessive speed of the Liberian container m/v "Thetis D" in the Kiel Canal passing the inner port of Brunsbuttel on May 16, 2013, around 2 a.m. The container ship was passing the canal eastbound. The suction of the ship caused the "ARKLOE RALLY" to move, so that the fore and aft spring broke. The loading arm of the plant was torn out of its connection to the ship, so the loading process had to be stopped. The container ship continued its journey towards Kiel. Investigations were launched against the captain who had to pay a safety guarantee once the ship berthed in the lock Holtenau around 10 a.m. The investigations of the water police Brunsbuttel continued. The "ARKLOW RALLY" left bound for England the same morning.
