1874-03-24: NRC 090374: Advertentie. De makelaars Montauban van Swijndregt, W. van Dam H.Hzn., B.C.D. Hanegraaff, H.N. Montauban van Swijndregt, H.H. van Dam, C.H. van Dam en H. Montauban van Swijndregt, te Rotterdam, zullen als lasthebbende van hunne meesters op dinsdag 24 maart 1874, des middags ten 12 ure, in de zaal aan de Scheepsmakershaven no. 29 publiek verkopen:
1. Het snelvarend Nederlands ijzeren schroefstoomschip TRIEST, laatst gevoerd door kapt. P. van Delft, lang 51,10 meter, wijd 7,41 meter, hol 4,27 meter, en alzo groot na aftrek van de machinekamer 590 ton, met deszelfs complete machine van lage drukking en 80 paardekracht, en verdere scheepsgereedschappen, zo als het thans is liggende in het Oosterdok te Amsterdam.
2. Het snelvarend Nederlands ijzeren schroefstoomschip GOTHENBURG, laatst gevoerd door kapt. J. Smidt, lang 55,40 meter, wijd 5,75 meter, hol 4,49 meter, en alzo groot na aftrek van de machinekamer 490 ton, met deszelfs complete stoommachine van 90 paardekracht, en verdere scheepsgereedschappen, zo als het is liggende in de Westerhaven te Rotterdam (opm: verkocht naar het buitenland voor NLG. 45.000,-)

1881-06-25: Homeport changed into Liverpool (John Mills of Manchester bought 7 shares from John Meek, who kept other the 57 shares)

1930-00-00: Final Fate: Bij een "opschoning" van Lloyd's Register in 1930, waarbij alle schepen werden verwijderd, waarvan men in ten minste 15 jaar geen berichten had, is de POSSIDON verwijderd. In een lijst van Turkse stoomschepen, uitgegeven omstreeks 1912/1913 komt het schip al niet meer voor.
