Very little was known about this ship until her arrival off St. Peter Port Harbour, Guernsey on 23rd May, 1943. Apparently she arrived, laden with cement and a few guns, in convoy with about seven other vessels but before being able to berth was attacked by the R.A.F, at 08.20 hours where a hit was received on the port side forward of No. 1 hatch. Unfortunately for the vessel the bomb damage was on the waterline and her forward hold quickly filled sinking her in about five minutes. A report of the sinking states: "she quickly filled up in the for'd well and the bow disappeared beneath the waves with only her stern hanging on for a while, but, just before her final plunge, the stern rose again and down she went vertically. A local diver confirmed that she has bad creases about the bow area caused when she hit bottom and today the vessel lies upright facing south in a position between St. Peter Port Harbour and the Lower Heads Buoy in about 80 feet of water. Since the war, divers and diving clubs have dived on this wreck and salvaged many relies for their collections. In 1975, some of her cargo of guns and mountings were raised, by the Blue Dolphin Club of Guernsey and are now on display at the German Occupation Museum, Forest, Guernsey.
